Bacalhôa - Catarina Branco

£16.99

This Bacalhoa wine is a tribute to Dona Catarina of Braganza, Queen of England and Princess of Portugal. Produced in the Peninsula de Setubal, with a blend of the Portuguese grape varieties Fernão Pires and Arinto grown on sandy soils, and Chardonnay grapes grown on the calcareous limestone soils on the slopes of the Arrabida mountains. Fernão Pires and Arinto ferment in stainless steel tanks and Chardonnay in new French oak barrels. The result is a dry fresh mineral wine, with rich flavour and aromas of the grape varieties, combined with minimal oak influence and a complex finish.
